Hazel Pillow Johnson

Hazel Pillow Johnson, 92, of Berkley, Mich., died Monday, April 14, 2008, at William Beaumont Hospital in Michigan.

She was born June 4, 1915, in Pollard to the late Rev. Samuel Pillow and Nora Johnson Pillow. She was united in marriage to the late Ruel Leslie Johnson Dec. 25, 1936 and the couple had three children. She had been a resident of Berkley since 1947.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and John Pillow; and two sisters, Loreen Nichols and Imogeen Underwood. She is survived by a brother, Tom Pillow; four sisters, Magleen Porterfield, Kathleen Seal, Barbara Moonie and Shirley Wahley; a daughter, Sandra Jean Johnson Critchley; two sons, Charles Richard and John Ruel; a son-in-law, William Critchley; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

A private graveside service is planned for the family at a later date.
