Hanna was born June 11, 1952, in Piggott, to Harold and Wanda (Gurley) Hanna.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ruby Gurley, Lester and Edith Gurley, Trudie and Aubry Hanna and his mother, Wanda Hanna.
Hanna served in the United States Marine Corps from 1974 to 1978, at which time he received an honorable discharge.
Survivors include his wife, Merita Graddy Hanna of Plano; his father, Harold Hanna of Piggott,; a sister, Tabatha Dunlap of Jacksonville; a brother and wife, Derek and Bambi Hanna of DeRidder, La.; in-laws, J.E. and Una Graddy of Piggott; a brother-in-law and wife, Stan and Jan Graddy of Tyler, Texas; three nieces, Samantha Chandler of Lonoke, and Sabra and Ashtyn Hanna of DeRidder; a nephew and wife, Matt and Jennifer DeWitt of Tyler Texas; a great-niece, Isabella Chandler, and two great-nephews, Nathaniel and Rawliegh DeWitt, along with a host of other family members and friends.
A memorial service was held Saturday, June 14, at Aria Funeral Home in Dallas and another will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21, at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Piggott. Joe Cole of Memphis officiated both services, and is to be assisted by Bro. Mike Book in the local service. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was charged with the local arrangements.
The family suggests that a memorial contribution be made to one's favorite charity in lieu of flowers.
