Staff Sgt. Terry Burdin of Rector (right), an Arkansas National Guardsman stationed at Camp Taji north of Baghdad in Iraq, recently had the opportunity to meet Gen. David Petraeus, Commanding General of the Multi-National Force in Iraq. Burdin, husband of the former Sarah Pruett of Rector, is with the 1038th HCC, attached to the 39th Infantry Combat Brigade. Burdin and several other area soldiers arrived in Iraq in March and are scheduled to return home in January 2009. Burdin is a trooper with the Arkansas State Police and, after his return to the U.S., will serve as a new trooper here. Gen. Petraeus oversees all of the coalition forces in Iraq.
