Mary Magdalene Stephen, 102, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2008, at Evergreen Health and Rehabilitation in Rector, where she was a resident.

Mrs. Stephen was born May 29, 1906, to the late Bill and Virgie (Moore) Drope north of Marmaduke. She was a loving mother and wife, an active member of the BRAD Center, loved to play dominoes and lived long enough to become the oldest lady at the Labor Day Picnic in 2006 and 2007.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Stephen; a son-in-law, Rudy Griffin, four brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by her three sons and their wives, Gary and Alice Stephen of St. Helen, Mich., Gail and Janet Stephen of St. Helen and Ronald and Glenna Stephen of Jonesboro; one daughter, Armella Griffin of Tehachapi, Calif.; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren, along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, Aug. 13) at Irby Funeral Home in Rector with Bro. Marston Carpenter officiating. Interment will be in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector.
