He was born July 19, 1921, to the late Edward and Elizabeth (Stone) Young in Mississippi County.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marmaduke, a Mason and served in the Navy during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Young; one son and his wife, Darrell and Cindy Young of Houston, Texas; two daughters and their husbands, Anita and Roy Chandler of Merritt Island, Fla., and Nancy and Edward Neimann of Commerce, Mich.; six grandchildren, Richard, Robert and Ryan Young, David and Jeffrey Neimann and Pamela Gonzalez, and seven great-grandchildren, Bryson and Braydon Young, Hannah, Bella and Daniel Young, Benjamin Best and James Neimann, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 3, at the First Baptist Church in Marmaduke with Kim Bridges, David Watkins and Dewayne Watkins officiating. Interment will be at the Greene County Memorial Gardens in Paragould.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, at the Irby Funeral Home in Marmaduke.
