Ozalene Washington, 79, of Marmaduke died Thursday, Oct. 16, at her home. Born March 25, 1929, in Lafe to the late Enos and Laura Beliew, she was an employee of Thompson's Variety Store in Rector for 20 years and then worked at Brown Shoe Company until she retired. She was of the Baptist faith.

Also preceding her in death were her husband, Jethro Washington; two brothers, A.C. Beliew and Swendell Othellus "Bulldog" Beliew, and one sister, Melba Albertine Mack.

She is survived by six nephews, Ronnie Speer of Leesburg, Fla., Larry Beliew and Avery Beliew, both of Paragould, Charles Beliew of Jonesboro, Lynn Beliew of St. Peters, Mo., and Michael Speer of Saginaw, Mich., and three nieces, Marilyn Kirby of Bartlett, Tenn., Laura Lee Ballard of Corning and Brenda Mills of Rector.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Ardell Polk officiating.
