Zenith Vivian (McCluney) Shannon, 97, of Kennett died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008. She was born Nov. 4, 1911, in Rector to the late Isaac and Ether (Sides) Bain McCluney. She was married to Edgar "Pete" Shannon Aug. 5, 1933. He preceded her in death in October 1986.

Also preceding her in death were one brother, Glen McCluney, and four sisters, Cecil Laughlin, Flora Patrick, Eloyea McDonald and Edith Bain.

Survivors include one daughter, Betty Shannon Landrum of Kennett; four grandchildren, Eddie and Connie Landrum of Amite, La., Vicki and Mike Rhew of Kennett, Danny and Angie Landrum of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Lori Telgen of Kennett; eight great-grandchidlren, Wesley Landrum of Cape Girardeau, Philip Landrum of Oxford, Miss., Andy and Courtney Rhew of Manila, Angela and Patrick Payne of Kennett, Jeremy Landrum of Chattanooga, Jordan Shelton and Joely Telgen, both of Kennett, one great-great grandson, Harrison Rhew of Manila and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett with Grover Shannon officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Edwin Bradley, Ronald Hamlett, Ryan Holder, Bob Holder, Neal Bradley and Roman Nigut.
