Wayne Bowman

Rev. Harold Wayne Bowman, 67, of Piggott, formerly of Rector, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, at his home.

He was born Jan. 12, 1941, in Senath, Mo., and was the son of the late Jim and Pearl (Ferguson) Bowman.

He was married May 27, 1960, to Shelby Byrd of Rector. He served for years as pastor of the Pentecostal Church in Rector.

His parents and a brother, James Bowman, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Shelby Bowman of Piggott; daughter, Denise Martin and husband Phillip of Memphis; his son, Rev. Greg Bowman and wife Natalie of Bedford, Ind.; four grandchildren, Andrea Craft, Jonathan Craft, Caleb Bowman and Reagan Bowman; his brother, Jim Bowman Jr. of Greenway, and other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were Saturday, Nov. 22, at the First United Pentecostal Church in Piggott with B.J. Thomas, Jay Masterson, Aubrey Jayroe, John Chance, Phillip LaRue and Greg Bowman officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of arrangements.
