Roy Howell Jr., 86, of Piggott, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008, at Piggott Community Hospital.

He was born Nov. 2, 1922, in Nimmons and was the son of the late Roy and Lorene (Broadway) Howell.

He also was preceded in death by his brothers, G.W. Howell, Troy Howell and Arlin Howell, and sisters, Agnes Hatcher and Louise Howell.

Survivors include his two sons, Ray Howell and wife Tina and Roy Howell III and wife Rita, all of Livonia, Mich.; four grandchildren, Roy IV, LeAnn, Heather and Jacob; four great-grandchildren, Dane, Roy Travis V, Trenton Ray and Lilly; four brothers, George B. Howell, Johnny Howell, Jimmy Howell and Gary Howell; two sisters, Vera Alberta Houser and Audrey Nell Darby, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 21, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Michael Cox officiating. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
