Asa Custer Lamp

Asa Custer Lamp, 93, of McDougal died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008, at Piggott Community Hospital. He was born May 28, 1915, in Piggott to the late William and Clemy Mae Lamp. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II, and later was a farmer and construction worker. He was a member of the McDougal Church of Christ and the American Legion.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Cecil Mathias Lamp. He is survived by two sisters, Lena Eileen Guthery and Catherine Vail, both of Corning; one brother, Burkley Lamp of Desoto, Mo., and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 29, in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel in Corning. Burial was in Piggott Cemetery. Ermert Funeral Home of Corning was in charge of arrangements.
