Jewell Buckley

Jewell Buckley, 98, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, at the NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro.

Born July 6, 1910, in Coldwater, Mo., she was the daughter of the late James Oliver and Barbara (Burrows) Oliver.

She was a restaurateur, working in her hometown of Bernie, Mo., and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Piggott.

She was married to Homer Buckley, who preceded her in death Nov. 15, 1974.

Survivors include one daughter, Virginia St. Cin of Piggott; one son, Ralph Buckley of Dyersburg, Tenn.; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.

Funeral services were Sunday, Dec. 7, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie. Burial was in the Malden Memorial Park Cemetery. Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home of Bernie was in charge of arrangements.
