Jennings Perry

Jennings "J.B." Perry, 76, of Piggott, died Friday, Dec. 5, 2008, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro.

He was born Dec. 24, 1931, in Craighead County and was the son of the late William B. and Nina L. (Carter) Perry.

He was married to Margie Shannon on July 19, 1966, and she preceded him in death April 12, 1989. He married Shirley (Clayton) Mobley on July 29, 1990.

He also was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Perry.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Perry of Piggott; two daughters, Julie Schwartz and husband Ken of Glendale, Ariz., and Arletta Freeman and husband Mark of Paragould; two brothers, Leon Perry and wife Peggy of Tacoma, Wash., And Charlie Perry and wife Diane of Hot Springs Village; two sisters, Brenda Clark and husband Larry and Janis Brightwell, all of Jonesboro; three grandchildren, Simon, Mara and Connor, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 8, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Kevin Murray and Kim Bridges officiating. Graveside services were held later that day at Farm Hill Cemetery near Harrisburg.

Pallbearers were Michael Hollis, David Finley, Larry Massey, Lambert Williams, Wade Harris and David Lyman. Honorary pallbearers were Larry "Cotton" Smith, Jim Scheffler, Bob Gower and Thomas Sneed.

Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was charged with the arrangements.
