Jerry Wayne Lindsey, 58, of Piggott, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, at his home. He was born Sept. 29, 1950, in Clay County to the late Jesse and Mary (Bradsher) Lindsey and was married to the former Melinda Perryman, who survives.

He had worked as a dozer operator and was affiliated with the Church of Christ.

In addition to his wife, he is surivived by one son, Jerry Lee Lindsey and wife Christie; three daughters, Jennifer Lynn Wilson and husband Yorel of Kennett, Mo., Brooke Smothers of Kennett and Angel Woodall and husband Ernie of Clarkton, Mo.; two brothers, Troy Lindsey and Melvin Lindsey, both of Rector; five sisters, Dorthy Whitten, Sue Lindsey, Linda Banning and husband Willie, Carol Wheeler and Jeanie Gatewood and husband James; nine grandchildren, Jamie Lindsey, JaLisah Lindsey, Jacob Wilson, Austin Woodall, Trevor Woodall, Parker Woodall, Courtney Lindsey, Taylor Lindsey and Jarrett Lindsey; a special friend, Edna Shaw, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Dec. 21, in the Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Piggott with brother-in-law Chester Mansfield officiating. Burial was in the Mitchell Cemetery at Greenway.

Active pallbearers were Ernie Woodall, Shannon Mann, Nathan Wheeler, Adam Wheeler, Rick Shaw and Curtis Lyles. Honorary pallbearers were Austin Woodall, Jacob Wilson and Trevor Woodall.

Irby Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of arrangements.
