Leon W. Underwood, 90, of Little Rock, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008.

He was a native of Piggott, a World War II veteran and a recipient of the Purple Heart.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen, and is survived by his wife, Betty Chapman Underwood. Other survivors include a son, Roger Underwood of Mabelvale; daughters, Pam Underwood of Rogers, Paula Fuhrman and husband Eric of Utah; grandson, Alex Shada, and a host of other friends and relatives.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Friday, Jan. 2, at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home on Chenal Parkway in Little Rock. Services will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be at Little Rock National Cemetery.
