Mary Magaline McDaniel

Mary Magaline McDaniel, 79, of Jackson, Mich., a native of Clay County, died Nov. 28, 2008, at her home in Jackson, Mich.

Mrs. McDaniel was born April 22, 1929, in Piggott to the late William Jess and Ollie May (Hunt) Rickman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George McDaniel; two brothers, Carroll Rickman and Weldon Rickman, and three sisters, Mamie Smith, Hattie Smart and Gertrude Sims.

She is survived by one son and his wife, Larry and Kay McDaniel of Romulus, Mich.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Janice and Dennis Wands of Jackson, Mich., and Beverly Brooks of Cement City, Mich.; six grandchildren, William, Craig, Mary, Crystal, Daniel and Delana; three great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Eva Tanner of Piggott and Junie Manning of Rector.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at Irby Funeral Home in Rector with Bro. Marston Carpenter officiating. Interment was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector.
