Junior chess team brings home trophy

The Piggott elementary chess team competed in the NEA Educational Cooperative tournament Jan. 20, and did an outstanding job as they placed at the top of the region. Receiving trophies for winning four out of five games were, from left: Front-- Caleb Benbrook, Celeston Haywood and Chris Combs.The remaining members of the team also took home ribbons, back--Jordan Blascoe, Anna McMillon, who received an honorary ribbon for 3.5 wins; Josh Cook, Matt Dalton and John Copelin.
