He was born June 8, 1944, in Arkansas to the late Eugene and Opal Ward. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a retired truck driver.
Also peceding him in death was one brother, Bob Ward.
Survivors include six brothers, Jim Ward of St. Charles, Mo., Dale Carter of Cheyenne, Wyo., Carl Ward of Fairview Heights, Ill., James Ward of Kennett, Mo., Thurman Ward of Mammoth Spring and Harold Ward of Glennonville, Mo.; five sisters, Regene Fitzgerald of Arkadelphia, Joyce Murray of St. Louis, Mo., Nyoka Sue Carter of Cheyenne, Wyo., Sharon Webb of St. Charles, Mo., and Janice Belcher of Holcomb, Mo.
Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan 30, at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Rector. Burial was in Mitchell Cemetery with Mitchell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were James Ward, Harold Ward, Thurman Ward, Carl Ward, Matthew Ward and David Belcher. Honorary pallbearers were his nephews.
