Mattie Lela Bare

Mattie Lela Bare, 96, of Piggott died Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, at Murphy Health and Rehabilitation Center in Piggott.

She was born Aug. 31, 1912. in Pollard, and was the daughter of the late Samuel and Mattie (Pollard) Forrest.

She was married to Cell Bare on Oct. 11, 1939, and the couple had two children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Mattie Forrest; her husband, Cell Bare; a granddaughter, Rahdon; three brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include her son, Delaine "Doc" Bare and wife Carolyn of Goodlettsville, Tenn.; her daughter, Martha Jane Seal of Piggott; five grandchildren, Robin, Renee and husband Fred, Duncan, Roger and wife Laura and Christy; a grandson-in-law, Gary; 11 great-grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 8, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Bro. Mike Book officiating. Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery at Pollard. Pallbearers were Jared Vaughn, Chet Vaughn, Fred Hicks, Roger Wood, Bob Swenson and Gary Moffitt.

Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was charged with the arrangements.
