Entergy to shut down power briefly

Monday, February 23, 2009
Rector customers of Entergy need to be prepared for a brief power shutdown starting at 2 p.m. Wednesday, according to David Burnett, the company's customer service manager for the Walnut Ridge region.

Burnett said the company is improving the overall system in the Rector area and must complete work at the substation on Highway 49 as part of that project. "This will increase the reliability of our service in the Rector area," Burnett said. It is the final step in the rebuilding of the power line between Rector and Marmaduke.

The work will be undertaken regardless of the weather conditions at the time, Burnett said. He anticipates the outage will be at least two hours and not more than four.
