Erica was a 2007 graduate of Piggott High School and was active in the Mohawk softball, basketball and volleyball programs. During her softball career at PHS, she was named All-Conference, All-Region and All-State. She also was honored for most homeruns, was named Most Valuable Player and "Miss Mohawk." She also played in the Junior Classic Softball Tournament at Conway.
As a basketball player, she was named All-Conference and All-State honorable mention. She also was named to the "Best Under the Sun" list. She also had the distinction of scoring 43 points in a single game and scored over 1,000 points in her high school career. She played in the Jonesboro Sun Senior Classic in the spring of 2007 and led her team in scoring.
As a volleyball player, Erica was All-Conference and an All-State selection. She also played in both the "Queens of the Hardwood" all-star invitational in Jonesboro and represented Piggott in the Arkansas High School All-Star game following her senior year.
She accepted a softball scholarship to Williams Baptist College in Walnut Ridge and attended classes at SEMO in Malden.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Charles Pitts.
Survivors include her parents, Barry and Melissa Rickman of the home; two brothers, Curtis and Matthew Rickman of the home; maternal grandmother, Kathy Pitts of Campbell; paternal grandparents Don and Sue Rickman of Malden; great-grandmother, Mae Dalton of Campbell, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 21, in the former Piggott High School gymnasium with Johnny Bradshaw and Lawrence Gibbons officiating. Burial was in the Piggott Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jim Threatt, Michael Morgan, Jeff Priest, Danny Baldwin, Tyler Pike, Chad Speer, Monty Howell and Trent Holcomb. Honorary pallbearers were Erica Redman, Courtney Toombs, Jessica Ingram, Melloney Dunlap, Kelsey Cole, Jordan Coomer, Casey Mauldin, Ashley Coleman and Amanda Howell.
Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of arrangements.
