Thelma Hommel

Thelma Hommel, 92, of Piggott, formerly of McDougal, died Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, at Piggott Community Hospital.

She was born Jan. 25, 1917, at Corning to the late Will and Sarah (Thompson) Hopkins. She married Hilman Hommel on Sept. 18, 1938, and he preceded her in death July 7, 1978.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Assembly of God Church of Piggott.

Survivors include one son, Sonny Hommel of Kennett, Mo.; one daughter, Earline Little of Kennett; one grandson, Jerry Allen Little of Shreveport, La.; one granddaughter, Deborah Ann Worthington of Cord; seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were scheduled for 1 p.m. today (Wednesday, Feb. 25) in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel at Corning with Rev. Bill Newman and Rev. Tony Monsel Monreal officiating. Burial was to be in the Post Oak Cemetery near McDougal.

Ermert Funeral Home of Corning was in charge of arrangements.
