At Manila Monday, the Lions jumped out to the early lead as they remained un-beaten on the season and in conference play. For the Tribe, despite a good outing by senior Tyler Grubb they were unable to come back after giving up five runs in the first inning.
At the plate the Tribe got two hits each from Jake Poe, Alek Samples and Jonathan Wright, as Poe drove in all three of the Piggott runs.
The Mohawks were scheduled to host Marmaduke Tuesday afternoon, and were slated to visit the Hoxie Mustangs Thursday afternoon. They'll be back in action next Monday as they host the Tuckerman Bulldogs, and will travel to Harrisburg next Tuesday, March 24. All games are scheduled for a 4 p.m. first pitch.
