Dorothy Joyce (Wade) Hickson

Dorothy Joyce (Wade) Hickson, 87, of Piggott, died Monday, March 9, 2009, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

She was born July 31, 1921, in Piggott, and was the daughter of the late Claude Royal and Arta Mae (Bradley) Wade. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist Faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Cecil Hickson March 3, 2009; four brothers, Harry Wade, Russell Wade, Raymond Wade and William Wade and three sisters, Grace Howell, Claudia Balsley and Ruth Pope.

Survivors include three sons, Paul Neal Hickson and wife Geneva and Johnny Lynn Hickson and wife Pamela all of Piggott, and Eric Dix Hickson of Cabot; four daughters, Nola Harriett Elliott and husband Arnold of Piggott, Ava Jo Smith and the late Francis of Cabot, Mary Lou Miller and husband Larry of Pacific, Mo. and Charlotte Ann Reagan and husband Neil of Alma, Ark.; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty five great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren; several special nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 13, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with John Hodges and Kevin Murray officiating. Burial was in the Piggott Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mike Pratt, Nathan Hartness, Patrick Miller, Tony Reagan, Sean Reagan, Shannon Reagan, Colin Reagan, Scott Hickson, Rob Hickson, Dustin Hickson and Daryn Hickson. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
