Born June 12, 1950, in Amory, Miss., he was a factory worker and was of the Pentecostal faith.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Brenda Scott of the home; five sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Brandy Scott of Piggott, Kevin Boss Scott of Missouri, Gary and Amanda Scott of Pargould, Michael and Penny Scott of Rector and Patrick Scott of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Terry Scott and Janetta of Dixon, Ill., Sharmaley and Jack Burdin Jr. of Piggott and Shelly and Kevin Long of Hattiesburg, Miss.; one brother, John Scott of Rockford, Ill.; four sisters, Sharon Boswell, Anita Gothard, Sharol Jacobson and Connie Williams, all of Cadiz, Ky.; a brother-in-law, Bob Rutledge of Rockford, Ill., 20 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and lots of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Ruby Benson Scott, and two brothers, Jerry Jay Scott and Jamie Joe Scott.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 23, at the First General Baptist Church of Rector with Rev. Marston Carpenter officiating. Burial was in Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home.
