Fredie Leo "Fred" Baty, 66, of Hillsboro, Mo., formerly of St. Charles, Mo., died Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at Hillsboro. He was born May 26, 1942, at Greenway and was the son of the late Leo and Ova (Wilkes) Baty.
He had been a member of the Union Baptist Church at Rector, but had been attending Sandy Baptist Church in Hillsboro since moving to that area. He was a carpenter and worked in the cabinetry business.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Ova Baty; two sons, Alan Baty and David Baty, and a sister, Leova Rogers.
Survivors include a granddaughter, Candyse Baty of St.Louis; a sister, Joann Baty of Hendersonville, Tenn.; two former wives, Mary (Starr) Baty and Vera Baty; a brother-in-law, Carl Rogers; five nephews, four nieces and special friend, Shirley Newberry of Austin, Texas.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 4, at Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home in Piggott. Afterward, at 11 a.m., family and friends will officiate a "celebration of his life."
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the donor's choice.
