She left this life on April 4, 2009 at the General Baptist Nursing Home, where she had been a resident since Jan. of 2007.
She was a home maker, and a member of the South Thornton Street Church of Christ in Piggott until she was no longer able to attend.
She was married to Howard D. Garner on March 4, 1961 and to this union three children were born: Leslie D. Garner, Kimberly D. Garner and Howard "Ashley" Garner.
In addition to her parents, who preceded her in death at a young age, she was also preceded in death by her son, Leslie D. Garner on Aug. 4, 2005 and a brother, Jeff Blocker, in 1973.
She will be sadly missed and is survived by, her daughter, Kimberly Buteaux and husband James of Iberia, La.; her son, Ashley Garner and wife Amy of Cassville, Mo; her daughter-in-law, Christine Garner of Anaheim, Calif.; six grandchildren, Ross Earl Garner and Danielle Malea Garner of Anaheim, Calif., Blake Buteaux, Morgan Yvonne Buteaux and step-granddaughter Arelia Buteaux all of New Iberia, La. And Dylan Garner of Cassville, Mo.; sisters Helen Nicolson of Fisk, Mo, Cleda Faulk and Rebecca Foulk both of Piggott, Myrline George of Festus, Mo., Glenda Sue Watson of North Little Rock and Belinda Graddy and husband Ronnie of Piggott along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends, including special friends, Robert, Shirley, Juanita and Nila. She was an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 7 in the Irby Funeral Home chapel in Piggott with Bro. Michael Cox officiating. Interment followed in the Piggott Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Brian Grimes, Matthew Lamborn, Ronnie Rupe, Dave Garner, Scott Speer and Stephen Speer.
