He was born June 3, 1932 in Pollard and was the son of the late Van Buren Rodery Sr. and Della Mable (Smith) Rodery.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence, Curtis and Cletus Rodery; three sisters, Delores Johnson, Nellie Runyon and Lola Ellis.
He is survived by two sons; Van Buren Rodery III and wife Anita and Cletus Ray Rodery and wife Jennifer both of Pollard; four daughters, Doris Parker and husband Allen, Della McCluskey and husband Tim, Dee Ann Rodery of Piggott, and Debra L. Johnson of Corning; 12 grandchildren, Lisa Waggoner and husband Chad, Jake Morrison, Daniel Parker, Luke Rodery, Charitie Wiltfang and husband Eddie, Sunshine Gueva and husband Ray, Zack Chucalate, Kristin and Penny McCluskey, Lauren Brown, Kiley Mode and Christina Dupree; Seven great grandchildren, Chayla, Daniel, Sara, Christen, Ray, Junior and Christina; one sister, Pauline Jenkerson of Piggott and the love of his life Janice Rodery, mother of his six children along with several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 11, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Shelly Elkins officiating. Burial was in the Gravel Hill Cemetery in St. Francis. Pallbearers were Carl Johnson, Loran Johnson, Vernon Johnson, Gene Johnson, Tony Johnson, Ronald Johnson, Randy Johnson and Martin Elkins. Honorary pallbearers were Loy Culver, Sonny Johnson and Leland Dees. Hoggard and sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
