Jimmie Franklin Rogers

Jimmie Franklin Rogers, 76, of Poplar Bluff, formerly of Nimmons, and Bethalto, Ill., passed away Sunday, May 17, 2009, at his home.

He was born March 8, 1933, in Nimmons, and was the son of the late Isom Thomas and Mary Jane (White) Rogers.

He retired from Granite City Steele after 32 years.

He was also preceded in death by his wife Carol Delight (Norris) Rogers; two sisters, Maxine Rogers and Jerline Rogers and a brother, George "Buddy" Rogers.

Survivors include his son, Clark Rogers and wife Debbi of Romance, Ark.; daughter, Vanessa Burkhart and husband Junior of Poplar Bluff; three stepchildren, Candace Hausman, Terry Norris and Robin Norris; four grandchildren, Courtney Little, Jennifer (Rogers) Pipes, Dustin Erick Little and Alexander Eggers; seven step-grandchildren, Brett and Aaron Hausman, Joshua and Robert Norris, Rhiannan Robinson and Cassandra and Aubrey Norris; two sisters, Shirley VanEtten and husband Jim and Karlida Esdale and husband Jim and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Vernon Curry officiating. Burial is in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott. Pallbearers will be Claython Diggs, Dustin Little, Joshua Norris, Robert Norris, Aaron Hausman, and Brett Hausman. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott will be in charge of the arrangements.
