Hester receives scholarships

Sarah Hester of Rector, recipient of the Rector High School Helping Hands Foundation's first Moses Knight Scholarship, recently received notice of two other scholarships she has won.

Hester received the Arkansas FFA Foundation Scholarship based on her participation and academic achievements.

She also won a $1,000 Owner-Operated Independent Drivers Association (OOIDA) Foundation Scholarship, based on an essay contest in which she competed with other students across the nation. That scholarship is renewable for three years.

The daughter of Scott and Sherry Hester, Sarah will attend Williams Baptist College at Walnut Ridge in the fall.
