Checking results from the boy's tournament, in the first round Beau Wicker beat Austin Raspberry 6-0, Trevor Grubb downed Quinton Mauldin 6-3, Mark Greaney beat Hunter Holcomb 6-0 and Josh Stone defeated Jacob Wellman 6-3.
In the semi-finals it was Wicker over Grubb 6-2 while Greaney advanced over Stone 6-0.
Meanwhile, in the consolation semi's it was Mauldin past Raspberry 6-0 and Wellman downed Holcomb 6-1. That set up the consolation final in which Mauldin got by Wellman 6-3.
In the third place match Grubb defeated Stone by a final of 6-1 and in the championship match it was Greaney over Wicker 6-0.
Thursday evening the girls bracket will be played beginning at 5:30 p.m. with the championship scheduled for around 8:30. The three top seeds, Haley French, Alex Scheffler and Chelsea Covarrubia all received a first round bye and will play in the second round.
The schedule of first round matchups includes--at 5:30 Elizabeth Ermert will take on Halee Arnold, at 6:00 Emily Graddy will meet Jerica Tate and Hallie Vannada will face Jazzmyne Mills, and the two 6:30 matches will be Emilee Seegraves facing Taylor Covert and Katelynn Woodard against Meghan Woodard.
A consolation tournament will be played beginning at 5:30 p.m. Friday, July 31 with the consolation championship being played around 7:30. This bracket will be made-up of players losing in the first two rounds of the championship tournament.
All the matches are being played at the Piggott municipal tennis courts, located adjacent to the public pool, and spectators are welcome to attend.
