Walter Price Massey

Walter Price Massey, 58, of Piggott, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2009, at his home in Piggott. He was born January 18, 1951, in Patterson, Ark., and was the son of the late Walter P. and Vernie Lucille (Fry) Massey.

He was united in marriage to Rebecca Diann McKenzie on June 21, 1970.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Garland Dewayne Massey, Bobby Joe Massey and Jerry Allen Massey, and one sister, Jeri Sue Massey.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Diann Massey; two sons, Walter Price Massey Jr. and Christopher Michael Massey, all of Piggott; seven grandchildren, Alex, Jesslynn, Aaron, Michael, Aubrey, Emily and Annalee; five brothers, Larry Max Massey, Ernest Massey, David Lee Massey and Jerry Dewayne Massey, all of Piggott, and Bill Ray Massey of Greenway; five sisters, Betty Joe Hickson of Atlanta, Ga., Linda Lou Saffer of Marmaduke, Brenda Sue Lacomp of Hot Springs, Cletta May Herrin of Piggott and Geneva Keohler of Arlington, Texas, along with many other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2, in the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Piggott with Kevin Murray officiating. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott is in charge of arrangements.
