Clay County Times-Democrat: Community Sports: Area team finishes second in state (08/05/09)

Recently the NEA-North Junior League District team took their district title at Jonesboro and in doing so qualified for a trip to the state tournament at Arkadelphia. The team, which included three players from Piggott, one from Corning, and six from Walnut Ridge then went on to finish second in the state to the host team from Arkadelphia.

The squad, which is made up of 13 and 14 year old players, included Clayton Cole, Brody Williams and Logan Murray of Piggott; Ty Prater from Corning and Range Weeks, Peyton Poole, Zack Carson, Eric Wilcoxson, Tyler Dickson and Randy Ditlo of Walnut Ridge. They were coached by Bill Wilcoxson of Walnut Ridge and Billy Joe Seal of Piggott.
