Glenda (Hoggard) Goundry

Glenda (Hoggard) Goundry, 74, of Jacksonville, Ark., died Sunday, August 2, 2009, at Hospice Home Care, Inc. in Little Rock.

She was born September 27, 1934, in Manila, and was the daughter of the late William and Grace (Richardson) Hoggard.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Billy Wayne Hoggard.

Survivors include her daughter, Diane (Goundry) Scalfaro of North Little Rock; two brothers, Gerald Wayne Hoggard and wife Sue of Piggott and Calvin Hoggard and wife Letha of Arlington, Tenn.; sister-in-law, Virginia "Kitty" Hoggard of Hernando, Miss., and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with William Piercy officiating. A graveside service will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at Macey Cemetery near Monette. Visitation is scheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday.

Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott is in charge of arrangements.

The family encourages memorials in lieu of flowers to foundations that were dear to her, including the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, American Diabetes Association and American Kidney Foundation, along with many veteran, animal and children's organizations.
