She was of the Baptist faith, had worked as a waitress and at a daycare center and retired from Brown Shoe Company when they went out of business.
She was married to Tressie L. Stokes in March of 1946 and he preceded her in death.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son, Paul Stokes; one brother, Joseph Riney and two sisters, Lydia Russom and May Davis.
She is survived by one brother, Roy Riney and wife Lillian of Piggott; three sisters, Dorothy Long of California, Georgia Risner and husband Peter of Rector and Judy Blankenship and husband Wayne of Tennessee; three grandchildren, Jeff Stokes, Cindy White and Robbie Stokes; five great-grandchildren along with many other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13 in the Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Piggott with Bro. Mike Book officiating. Interment will follow at the Mitchell Cemetery at Greenway. Pallbearers will be Terry Risner, Charles Risner, Jim Risner, Denny Stokes, Dan Stokes and Paul Hovis.
