Jerry Elvin Read

Jerry Elvin Read, 65, of Hardy, Ark., passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2009, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

He was born February 24, 1944, in McDougal, and was the son of Raymond E. and Flora (Easley) Read.

He was united in marriage to Bonnie Bolen Oct. 25, 1962, and to this union three sons were born.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Read; grandson, Chance Read; brothers, Charles and Bobby Read and an infant sister, Loretta Read.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Read of Hardy; three sons, Shawn, Ken, and Kip Read and their families; his mother, Flora Read of O'Fallon, Mo.; sister, Charlotte Johnson of O'Fallon, Mo., and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 4, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Jim Weston officiating. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard. Pallbearers were Brad Johnson, Nicholas Johnson, Darren Bolen, Clay Bolen, Darren Reed and Keith Garver. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of arrangements.
