Paul Griffith Jr., 71, passed away Aug. 17, 2009, at his home in Cordova Tenn.

He was born Aug. 26, 1937, in Piggott to Paul and Neva Griffith.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty Crews Griffith; two sons, Kyle Griffith of Atlanta Ga., and Alan Griffith and wife Brenda, along with grandchildren, Alan Jr. and Emma Noele, all of Cordova Tenn.

He is also survived by two sisters, Nancy Hardcastle and husband Tom of Piggott, and Rebecca Sater of Eads Tenn.; one brother, Richard Griffith and wife Pat of Paragould, along with eight nieces and nephews.

He was a Veteran of the United States Navy, and was a 1962 graduate of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.

He retired from Government Service having worked for U.S. Postal Service Real Estate Division, Corp of Engineers, FHA and Soil Conservation Service, serving in both Arkansas and Tennessee.

He was of the Baptist faith, and enjoyed bass fishing, duck hunting and cooking.

At his request his body was donated to the Genesis Program M.E.R.I for medical research and education.
