Shady Grove hosting seminar on foster care and adoption

Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church will hosting a foster care/adoption seminar beginning at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28. The special guest speakers will be Chris Shelton and Amy Harris.

Shelton works with the Arkansas Department of Human Services as an investigator with the child protective services. He will be discussing the urgent need for foster homes in Clay County and answer any questions regarding becoming foster parents.

Amy Harris is the director of the LOVED Project (Living Our Values Every Day) that promotes the traveling Heart Gallery. This is a display of photos of children available for adoption.

The church is located on Highway 62 east of Piggott. Those who have questions about the event you may call the church pastor, Mike Book, at 598-3913. Anyone interested in becoming foster parents or adopting children through the state is encouraged to attend this meeting to find out how they might be able to meet the needs of a child.
