The Piggott Community Hospital team took first place at the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center's 15th annual Foundation Golf Tournament held Thursday, Sept. 10 at the Paragould Country Club. With a total of 70 teams taking part in the event, the Piggott Hospital team took the win by one stroke by firing 18 consecutive birdies for winning score of 52. Five other teams tied for second with totals of 53. The team was made up of, from left--Captain James L. Magee, C.W. Knauts, Scot Sale and David Lyman.
Sale and Lyman provided plenty of 300-plus yard drives for the team, but it was Capt. Magee's deadly pinpoint iron play and consistent putting that gave the Piggott team their edge.
More than $56,000 was raised for patient programs and services at AMMC according to Shane Carter, director of the annual event.
