PES fall fest a success

Thursday, October 8, 2009
The annual Piggott Elementary Fall Festival was held Friday, Oct. 2, on the playground at PES and thanks to good weather a large crowd turned out for the event.

The fall festival, and the recently-added silent auction, are major fundraisers for the PES Climate Committee and all proceeds from the events benefit the students. In fact, funds from previous festivals have been used to install much of the playground equipment at the elementary campus, including several items that were installed recently by maintenance personnel.

The 2009 edition of the fall festival included all the old favorites, such as the train ride, ring toss game, pictures with the fire truck and the famous cinnamon rolls prepared by the cafeteria staff. New editions this year also included more of the "inflatables" and a Sumo wrestler attraction.

The students, faculty and staff offered their thanks to everyone who attended the event and special thanks to those who made the festival possible.
