Theron 'Jack' Nelson
Theron "Jack" Nelson, 85, of Piggott passed away Friday, Oct. 16, 2009, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

He was born Sept. 28, 1924, in Springfield, Mo., and was the son of the late William B. Nelson and Grace (Mooney) Nelson Snow. He was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Lottie Nichols (Mooney) Permenter Kirk, who was a significant influence in his life.

He was united in marriage to Jo Ella Swindle on Sept. 24, 1960, in Detroit, Mich.

Theron owned Northwood Patterns, a wood pattern maker business in Detroit.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Ella Nelson of Piggott; his brother, Thomas Marshall Snow of Grants Pass, Ore.; sister, Rosemary Snow of Birmingham, Ala., and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, in Hoggard and Sons Chapel. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.

Family suggest memorials be made to the Disabled American Veterans and/or the Salvation Army.
