Doyne Reed Ward

Doyne Reed Ward was born April 21, 1927, at Bee Branch, to the late Sam and Vannie Ward. He was a World War II Navy veteran having served on the U.S.S. Columbia. He was a member of the Blooming Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He loved to deer hunt, coon hunt, crappie fish and watch his great-grandchildren play ball. He had one major fault -- he was a Chicago Cubs fan.

He was married to the former Omeda Pruett for 61 years.

He also was preceded in death by two sisters, Dean Cook and Peggy McGinthy.

He is survived by family members Omeda Ward, Roby and Linda Ward of Rector, Marty and Kim, Cody and Tyler Ward of North Little Rock; grandchildern, Tamira and Tim and Brendan Irby of O'Fallon, Mo., Shannon and Tim, Dane and Macey Branum of Paragould, Nathan, Bertha and Aiden Seay of Kansas City, Mo., Jolene and Kevin Young of Arlington, Tenn., Treda and Kaleb White of Brookland; sister, Doris Looney of Arlington, Texas, and a brother, Johnny Ward of Hardy.

Pallbearers were Nathan Seay, Dane Barnum, Cody Ward, Tyler Ward, Kaleb White and Kevin Young.

The funeral service was at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, in the Irby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Don Morris and Bro. Owen Little officiating.
