Ronny Oliver

Ronny Oliver, 60, of Corning died Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at the VA Medical Center in Memphis. He was born May 19, 1949 at Cape Girardeau, Mo. to the late Rex and Mildred Oliver. He was also preceded in death by a step-daughter, Jamey Hovis in July, 1991.

He was united in marriage to Nancy (Roark) Oliver Saturday, May 4, 1985.

He was a Vietnam veteran, having served in the U.S. Army, was a crop duster by trade and of the Baptist faith. In his leisure time he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Oliver of the home; two daughters, Tina Dodd of Jonesboro and Heather Mason of Hot Springs; one son, James Hovis, Jr. of Corning; two brothers, Mike Oliver of Jonesboro and Rex Oliver of Grubbs along with five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 23 in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel at Corning with Rev. Herb Ellis officiating. Burial was in the Post Oak Cemetery at McDougal.

Ermert Funeral Home of Corning was charged with the arrangements.
