Dena Lou Johnson, 44, of Pollard, passed away Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009, at the Piggott Community Hospital.
She was born Nov. 29, 1964, in Poplar Bluff, and was the daughter of the late Carl H. and Sarah Lou (Kelso) McNeal. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Lee, Lonnie Joe and Roy Gene McNeal.
She was united in marriage to Tony Johnson on May 25, 2002.
Dena had a degree in secondary education and taught Spanish at Kennett High School and she was a member of the Malden Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by her husband, Tony Johnson of Pollard; three children, Matthew Wayne Faughn and wife Jamie of Lawton, Okla., Ashley Nicole Hendley and husband Jonathan of Pollard and Travis Anthony Faughn of Pollard; two step-children, Ashley Gail Brenna and husband Kade of Nebraska, and Brittany Mae Johnson of Bakersfield, Calif.; five grandchildren, Grady and Blake Hendley and Kashlynn, Kadee and Kaylee Brenna; five brothers, Carl Jr. McNeal of Poplar Bluff, Carlos Dale McNeal of Brosley, Mo., Lloyd Wayne McNeal of Brosley, Gerald David McNeal of Naylor and Steve Danny McNeal of Poplar Bluff; five sisters, Charlene Williford of Gray Summit, Mo., Carlene Kearbey of Pacific, Mo., Jo Jean Burkhart of Melbourne, Ark., Katherine Jeanette Burkhart of Poplar Bluff and Vicky Lynn Torresin of Poplar Bluff, and other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Steve Proctor, Loy Culver and James Bolin officiating. Burial is in Cummins Chapel Cemetery at Pollard. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Hendley, Daniel McNeal, Levi McNeal, Mikey Huggins, Marcus Knight and Brian Logan.
Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott is in charge of the arrangements.
