He was born Nov. 12, 1929, in Rector to the late Obe and Thelma (Hickerson) Rogers. He worked in the maintenance department of the Jefferson County Courthouse for 18 years. He also worked at St. Joe Lead and was a farmer.
He also was preceded in death by his wife, Leova M. (Baty) Rogers; one son, Richard Rogers; brother, Prentiss Rogers, and sisters, Helen Rogers and Dorothy Rogers.
Survivors include three sons, Carl (Judith) Rogers, Kerry (Diane) Rogers both of Festus, and Dennis (Betty) Rogers of Hillsboro, Mo.; three daughters, Shirley (Vincent) Wilson of DeSoto, Mo., Janet (Anthony) Emily of Sullivan, Mo., and Marilyn (Rob) Frazier of Festus; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roy (Mary) Rogers of Greenway and Jerry Don (Dena) Rogers of Branson, Mo.; one sister, Betty Lou (Lyle "Dwayne") Norgaard of Lansing, Mich., and one daughter-in-law, Kathy Rogers of Festus.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26, at Mahn Twin City Chapel with Pastor David Wells officiating. Burial was in Peaceful Ridge Cemetery with Mahn Funeral Home of DeSoto, Mo., in charge of arrangements.
