Mr. Burr was born Dec. 4, 1938, in Sharp County to the late Clint and Ruby Burr. Jack was a well-respected man. He farmed for three generations of the Auda Simmons family. He was a policeman, trucker and many more things in between.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Burr, on June 22, 2006; two brothers, Levon, 1983, and Ugine (Red), 2003 and two sisters, Nadine Scallion, 2004, and Sandra Kay Burr, 2005.
Survivors include a brother, C.D. Burr of Kennett; three sisters, Sandy Kauffman of Stockton , Calif., Sue Higgins and Joan Faries of Paragould; a son and daughter-in-law of Auburn, Ky.; his four granddaughters, Heather Runyon, Tara Burr, Mindy Burr and Teresa Rice; Jack's daughter, Lesa Morgan and husband Joe, and her three children, Jack's grandchildren Micah Robinson, Christina Boren and Leigh Diaz.
Jack had 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway with J.C. Kirby and Son Funeral Home of Bowling Green, Ky., in charge of arrangements.
