He was born March 17, 1922, to the late Fred and Della (Curtis) Emberton Sr. in Milan, Mo.
Doc was an avid fox hunter and enjoyed nothing more than sitting outside and listening to the dogs begin their hunt. He belonged to the VFW and American Legion, had fought in World War II and was a member of the First Christian Church in Piggott.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine (Douglas) Emberton.
Doc is survived by a daughter, Vicki Vankooten of Piggott; one son and his wife, Ronny and Nancy Emberton of Savannah, Mo., four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one
great-great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 4) at the Piggott Cemetery with Alan Vaughn officiating. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. at the Irby Funeral Home in Piggott.
