After the storm

A beautiful sunset peeked from the clouds just after the recent rains ended Friday evening.
Rain, rain, go way. Those words were heard all over Rector last week when downpours Thursday and early Friday dumped about four inches of additional rain on already soggy ground. The moods of most area residents were as gloomy as the heavy clouds which hung overhead for days. And then came the sun! As evening approached Friday, the sun broke through, bathing everything in a magical golden glow and immediately lifting the spirits of all who witnessed not only a magnificent sunset, but a brilliant double rainbow which stretched all the way across the sky. Most took it as a sign of better things to come -- and that has held true with clear blue skies and lots of sunshine filling the days all of this week and making it possible for local farmers to final return to the fields to resume harvest.
