Barbara Harris

Barbara Harris, 74, of Piggott, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, at her home. She was born Jan. 22, 1935, in Boydsville Ark., and was the daughter of the late Jacob "Jake" Lee and Edna Alene (Roofe) Vaughn. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Glenda Hunter.

She was united in marriage to Junior Harris March 5, 1951, and to this union four children were born.

Survivors include her husband, Junior Harris of Piggott; son, Marvin Harris of London, Ark.; three daughters, Beverly Scott and husband Alan of Piggott, Donna Harris and fiancé Randy Poe of Piggott and Janice Ingram and husband Chris of Little Rock; six grandchildren, Thomas Harris of Fayetteville, James Jacob Fry of Piggott, Jessica Lynn Ingram of Jonesboro, Craig Scott and wife Crystal of Paragould, Kristen Scott of Jonesboro and Ben Scott of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; great grandchildren, Lane, Logan and Lathan Scott; sister-in-law, Virginia Long of Piggott, and other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Kevin Murray officiating and Bill Waterman and Jesse George assisting. Burial was in Piggott Cemetery. Pallbearers were Richie Culver, Cody Culver, Walter Rau, Carey Rau, Craig Scott and Jimmy Threat.

Honorary pallbearers were Benny Fry, Rick Culver and cousins, David Ozier, Barry Kilbreath and Dale Grimes. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of arrangements. Those wishing to post online condolences may do so at www.hoggardfuneralhome.com
