She was born June 14, 1924, in Crockett, Ark., and was the daughter of the late Willie Sparks and Winnie Pearl (Thomas) Lowery.
Necie was united in marriage to Chester Floyd Pollard Nov. 5, 1943. To this union two sons were born.
Necie was a member of the Grace Baptist Church of Corning. She was a lifelong resident of Clay County, and was a devoted wife and mother. She worked in the home and on the farm alongside her husband and sons. She enjoyed making quilts to keep her family warm and to give as gifts. She loved her sons and adored her grandchildren. Necie had lived with Alzheimer's disease for the last years of her life. She is now at peace as she always deserved.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Floyd; three sisters, Pearlie Hawthorne, Ardell Holifield and Ruby Head, along with three brothers, Johnny, Jesse and Henry Lowery.
She is survived by son Leslie Pollard and wife Suzanne of Corning; son Gary Pollard of Pollard; two grandchildren, Garrett Pollard and wife Carolyn of Pollard, and Autumn Pollard of Corning, along with one sister, Lois Tobassum of Oregon. And a very special "son", Jim Corder of Corning, will also miss her.
Graveside services were held Nov. 9 at New Hope Cemetery in Pollard with Pastor Doug Burch officiating. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Garrett Pollard, John Crossfield, Jerry Luttrell, Jim Corder and Charlie Corder.
