June was a longtime active member of First General Baptist Church in Piggott where for many years she served as church treasurer.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Lewis and Nell Toombs, and former husband, Bill Jones, father of Kathy.
Leaving to mourn are her husband Gerald Morris, a devoted husband of 35 years; two brothers, Jerry Toombs of Piggott, and J.W. Toombs of Pollard; and a close blended family of four children and six grandchildren whom she dearly loved. Children are Kathy Ballard and husband David, Ed Morris and wife Patricia, Alan Morris and wife Pamela, Roger Morris and wife Suzie, all of Piggott. Her grandchildren are Kyle Phillips of Jonesboro, Chris Morris of Gainesville, Fla., Jonathan Morris of Russellville, Ark., Paul Morris and wife Jeri Beth, Cara Saffell and husband Steven, Callie Kimes and husband John, all of the Fort Smith area. June had four great-grandsons along with several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren, whom she always counted as her own. June also had many, many friends and numerous relatives.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16, at the First General Baptist Church in Piggott. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Kyle Phillips, Chris Morris, Paul Morris, Steven Saffell, John Kimes and Jonathan Morris. Honorary pallbearers were Ellis Powell, Jim Poole, James Featherston, James Engle, Frank Thrasher and J.B. Featherston. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of arrangements.
The family suggest that memorials be made to the Food Bank at the First General Baptist Church, 679 South Taylor Avenue, Piggott, Ark., 72454.
